LATE BLOOMER
My memoir is told from a feminist, bilingual, bicultural point of view. It features a strong female narrator who fled a violent relationship by outsmarting her abuser. I thrived over trauma, mended the frayed relationship with my mother, met my second and last husband on a dating website and overcame my struggle with infertility.
LATE BLOOMER explores migration, maternal rage, domestic violence and racing against time; I had to get out of an abusive marriage alive so my mother could die in peace. At thirty-four, I wanted kids but not with my then husband. My biological clock was about to disintegrate and I needed a do over; a mother who beat the odds, a new husband and kids.
